FAQs
Common Questions
What is music therapy and how can it help?
Music therapy is a clinical and evidence-based practice conducted by a registered Music Therapist. We use music to accomplish non-musical goals, such as support emotional, cognitive, social, and physical wellbeing. Through strategic musical experiences people can express emotions, build communication and motor skills, reduce anxiety, and develop confidence. Music therapy can benefit people of all ages and abilities
How long are music therapy sessions and what do they cost?
Sessions typically last 45–60 minutes, providing enough time for meaningful engagement and therapeutic progress. The first consultation is free, allowing you to meet the therapist, discuss goals, and understand our approach. Ongoing sessions start at $99.75 per session. There may also be funding options available through individualised funding or other support programs—feel free to get in touch to discuss what could be suitable for your situation
Do I need any musical experience?
Not at all! Music therapy is not about performance or skill — it’s about using music as a tool for expression, growth, and connection. Everyone can benefit, regardless of experience or ability, and sessions are tailored to meet each person’s comfort level and goals
